Redhill School is a hive of musical activity and takes great pride in its musical achievements throughout the year. All children are encouraged to become musicians to experience the enjoyment and learning opportunities music can offer. In addition to music in the classroom, children have the opportunity to learn to play an instrument. We work closely with Telford Music Service to offer weekly lessons of keyboard, guitar, drums and violin. Whilst children are learning to play they are welcome to join the orchestra to gain experience of playing and performing together.
Once again, the children of Redhill had an amazing time at the Young Voices Concert in the Genting arena. This year our choir shared the experience with children from Morville Primary School. It was wonderful to see how welcoming and caring our students were. After an early lunch we set off for the arena joining over 6000 other children for a rehearsal. The choir had the opportunity to practise all of the songs with a live band of professional musicians, a successful conductor and critically acclaimed soloists. The children particularly enjoyed dancing with members of Urban Striders. The evening concert was a chance for the choir to perform to their friends and family in a packed arena. Well done to all students who spent hours rehearsing the songs not only in our choir rehearsals but also at home. We look forward to the next performance!
