Miss Farmer's Class Miss Lloyd's Class “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”

In Reception we believe that all young children are unique, they have the right to create and lead their own learning pathways. We aim to achieve this through an inspiring environment that ignites curiosity, facilitated by highly skilled adults that nurture, care and educate.
We pride ourselves on giving the children every opportunity to learn through a rich and varied curriculum designed to encourage independence, resilience and curiosity.
Learning through play.
Play is one of the main ways in which children learn and develop. It helps to build self worth by giving a child a sense of his or her own abilities and to feel good about themselves. Because it's fun, children often become very absorbed in what they are doing.
Life cycles
We have had great fun looking through the candling machine to see whether the eggs were fertile and seeing the embryo moving and changing shape.
We are counting down the days until are eggs start to crack and we get to see our little chicks.
We are so excited to welcome 6 fluffy little Bantams to Reception. We carefully moved them from the Incubator into the Brooding Pen.
Reception’s chicks from July 2021 are doing very well. Mr and Mrs Catling have found a very loving home for them where they are bringing lots of joy and eggs!
A very big thank you to Mr and Mrs Catling for taking such great care of them. Today we set the butterflies free. We watched them fly away exploring the playground as the flew.
Here at Redhill we believe is essential for children to have real life experiences.
Real life experiences are invaluable to children’s learning and here at Redhill Primary school we believe that these experiences allow for ‘awe and Wonder’, motivating the children to ask and answer questions, developing their creative and critical thinking.
