Debra Garside - Deputy Chair of Governors

I have been a teacher for over 30 years, working across Key stages 1 and 2 and I am currently teaching in a primary school in Dudley. I believe strongly that every child deserves an education of the highest quality and that our primary schools have a vital role to play in shaping our society. My two sons attended Redhill Primary School and were extremely happy there. They were taught well and the caring, nurturing ethos of the school gave them confidence. They benefitted from the wide range of activities on offer including sport, music and art. Redhill School is my local primary school and I would welcome any opportunities to help the school work with others in the local community. I am grateful to the school for the excellent education my children received and I am glad of the opportunity to give something back.

Steve Tidmarsh - Parent Governor

I have been in commercial business all my working life, for the last 20 years I have worked at Director levels in all elements of business ranging from Managing Director, Operations Director, Sales & Marketing Director to Financial Director where I probably feel more at home. I am currently working as a Consultant with a 150 Million turnover Company as a Director of the UK business where I am able to work from home 3 days a week which provides me with ample time to dedicate a lot of my time to being a parent governor. The Redhill Primary School has built up over the last few years a very good reputation in the Telford area and both my wife and I feel very fortunate that our 6-year-old twins are able to attend the school which is on our doorstep .I have a strong belief that that if you stand still in any walk of life you will get left behind and If I can support and help the school improve year on year this will not only benefit my own children but many more that follow after them. It is great privilege being elected a parent governor and whilst I will be on a very steep learning curve I intend to put all my experience and knowledge into supporting the Governors, Head Teacher and staff to ensure the success of the school continues strives to get better for all its current and future children.

Dara Carroll - School Governor

I was privileged to be one of the original team of staff who established Thomas Telford School in 1991.  After twenty years at the school, seventeen as a Deputy Head, I was seconded to Milton Keynes Academy as Associate Principal and subsequently was appointed as Principal.

Since retiring from that post in 2016 I have supported a number of Secondary Schools facing challenging circumstances in a variety of leadership roles.

I am delighted to be able to support the Headteacher, staff and children at Redhill Primary Academy as a  governor and will do all I can to ensure that the school continues to thrive and be successful as part of the TTMAT.

I am married with four grown up children and have six grandchildren. In my spare time I continue to sing and support young people as a volunteer for the Tall Ships Youth Trust.
