Sporting Achievements

Sport

There is a lot of pride that runs throughout Redhill of their sporting achievements over the past couple of years. Whether they win all lose in the sports competitions they always show fantastic sportsmanship and team spirit. We are always extremely proud of the amount of effort the children put in and their dedication towards sport.

In 2022-2023, over 300 students across the school have attended sports competitions. Children from Year 1 to Year 6 have been able participate in a range of sporting competitions including multi-skills, golf, Kwik cricket, archery, swimming, tennis, dodgeball, hockey, tag rugby, netball, and football.

The Year 5/6 boys’ football team represented Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club in early June in Leeds after winning the Wolverhampton Foundation qualifying tournament. The boys played brilliantly and finished in the top 8 teams in the country. In addition, they won the Shropshire Schools and Colleges FA competition and played in the quarter finals of the ESFA regional Competition. Following this, they had great success in winning the Telford and Wrekin and Shropshire County Cup Competitions in May. Alongside this the Year 4/5 boys’ team also won the Shropshire Schools and Colleges FA competition.

A mixed gender Year 6 Hockey team finished in third in the Telford and Wrekin finals. A mixed gender Year 5/6 netball team finished in second place in the Telford and Wrekin finals and at the Shropshire games.

In addition to all these wonderful competitions, we also had 41 children from across Key Stage Two compete in the Telford and Wrekin Cross Country event back in May with 3 children bringing back medals.
