Redhill Primary Academy Road Safety Events and Workshops

The Travel Council team and Junior Road Safety Officers are proactive in planning initiatives which highlight sustainable travel and road safety throughout school. This ranges from planning whole school events such as ‘Walk and Wheel’ to promote active travel to school, and ‘Be Bright Be Seen’ to raise awareness of travelling safely in the dark. In addition, this year the children have also been involved with the organization of ‘Road Safety Week’ and taken part in competitions to raise awareness of the key areas of road safety. The children in nursery and reception also experience a ‘Cycle Circus’ workshop and take part in ‘Beep Beep’ day where they participate in a range of activities to help them learn how to be safe near roads.

In addition to this, one of our school entries for the Design a Road Safety Sign Competition was also shortlisted out of over 800 entries from across Telford.
